Bill,

I'd like to see negative population growth and humans are responsible about
having children. This is where education comes in. i.e.: if a couple can't
afford to breed, they don't. Once a couple have replaced themselves they
stop. No "one for the country". No government funding for all artificial
breeding programs. Gov funding only available for two births per woman,
unless one or all her children have died. No "baby bonuses", no funds for
child minding. Parents get proper free education and free health care, the
rest they pay for. If employers want women to work for them, they can fund
child minding.

Not all women and men are suited, or want to be parents. This is one area
where those "Christian values" kicks in. Those people who don't want, or
aren't suited to be parents are made to feel second class citizens. So they
breed because they want to fit in. It's a disaster for the parents and the
children.

Bill, to be sustainable world human population has to be reduced by almost
two thirds. In Australia we're lucky. We've only got to reduce our
population by about half.

By the way, don't ask me to defend those estimates. I'm not getting bogged
down in a logistics debate. We've got the internet now. You can check out
the facts for yourself.

frank
