Earthwise Presents - Egyptian Hieroglyphs, Whale Dreaming, Aboriginal Rock
Art, Bush Tucker and Bush Medicine Discovery Tour!
Join us on Sunday the 29th April to explore on a guided Tour some wonderful
hidden treasures north of Sydney on the Central Coast at Woy Woy.
This Tour Includes -
An Introduction to Whale Dreaming - To the coastal tribes the whale is the
all powerful Rainbow Serpent and is closely associated with the Rainbow
Serpent/Snake of the inland. The whale is, as is the serpent elsewhere in
the world, associated with fire, earth energy, wind, water, the sun, moon
and the symbol that links all of these elements - the rainbow. The whale
left in its wake a sacred, eternal living essence. Rock formations (both
natural and man-made), trees, waterholes, and other features that dot the
local terrain, mark these ancestral Dreamtime passages, record the dramas,
and entomb many of its principal characters, as if in sleep. At the same
time, these sacred places are centre's of natures reproductive powers.
Egyptian Hieroglyphics Guided Tour - 480 clearly recognisable Egyptian
Hieroglyphs
(Simple flat walk - down level track - duration 20 mins from car park)
Then we move on to
Aboriginal Rock Art Guided Tour - including figures of men, shields, fish,
mundoes (footprint), kangaroos
(Simple flat walks - pathway - duration 5 mins from car park)
Bush Tucker and Bush Medicine - Whilst we are visiting ancient Aboriginal
sites, be shown and sample some local bush tucker and learn some bush
medicine information from the plants and old growth bush. Bushfires have
recently been through some of this area, and now after the rain there is an
abundance of wildlife and flowering plants.
Then we stop for a picnic
