firm, Chalk & Fitzgerald.
Land Rights and Native Title - the long road home
A discursive account of the development of land rights and native title over
the last 20 years and a look at the challenges facing Aboriginal people over
the coming decade.
For nearly 20 years Andrew has practised extensively in the area of
Aboriginal land rights, native title and cultural heritage protection. He
has acted for Aboriginal land councils and native title representative
bodies across Australia, from the Torres Strait to Western Australia. Andrew
is presently advising the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council on the
review of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (NSW).
Andrew is also the Chair of the Environmental Defenders Office Limited, the
major public interest environmental law centre in Australia.
