Present:  Ben Marcus, Niels Briet, Paul Vandersar, Kathy Van Pelt, John
Fielder and Gillian McKenzie.

Welcome:  Niels welcomed all in attendance.

 

 

Business Arising from the Previous Meeting:

 

There is no further news about SBS

Handbook:

 

Lee Schwertdfeger will be asked if she is willing to put together a handbook
of important points which all presenters will be given when they begin.

 

 

Ethnic Program Representative:

 

It was agreed that Tiffany Turnour be asked to fill this position as due to
illness Renee Sporre is unable to fulfil these responsibilities.

 

 

Training:

 

Law Module - It was agreed that the basics of this module should be
delivered to all new presenters

 

 

Programming:

 

More ethnic program hours will be offered to some of the language groups.

 

 

Staff Issues:

 

Raelyn Mitchell has been suspended for abusive behaviour.  

 

 

Certificates of Appreciation:

 

Paul to follow up.

 

 

Technology:

 

The generator on Mt. Yarrabah has to be replaced at a cost of approximately
$23,000.  The fuel tank will be custom-built to sit beneath the generator.
The agreement with TAB states that they will give us half the projected cost
of $20,000, so they will be giving us a one-off fee of $10,000 for usage.

 

New computer for the production unit.  $3,500 - $4,000.

 

Streaming:  Pod-casting is an alternative which is simpler and more
selective.  Selected programs may be loaded for downloading anywhere all
over the world, at the convenience of the listener.

 

BBC:  The weather monitoring program - Paul will follow up.

 

TAB:  They would like to house their satellite receiver and retransmission
link on our premises at Raintrees.  The dish will go on the roof and the
retransmission link in the studio area.  They do not require a key and will
do maintenance checks at our convenience.

 

The transmission site Lease Meeting is on Wednesday, 29th March, 2006.
Niels will attend.

 

 

Easter Program:

 

BBC for Good Friday, and programming as usual for Saturday, Sunday and
Monday.

 

 

 

The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, 7th April, 2006.

 

 

 

The meeting ended officially at 8.20 pm.
