Business Arising from the Previous Meeting: Because Nicola Josef is no longer in charge of Training, we are trying to ascertain how our three trainers can become registered. Prapasiri continues to be very useful as a Work for the Dole volunteer. The Christmas Party at the Esplanade was well attended and greatly enjoyed by all. We will continue to pursue tenancy of these premises. Gillian will investigate acquiring a water cooler through Bartercard. SBS Radio: The application for a license has been submitted to ACMA. Maralene from the Brazilian program is working on the document of implementation to be submitted to Cairns City Council. Christmas Schedule: Christmas Day and New Year's Day will be pre-programmed. From Boxing Day (Monday) we will be live as normal. Programming: Japanese: Mark will contact a friend who is a Japanese national. Chilean: Manena is not ready yet, hopefully in the New Year. Venesuelan: Will pursue this as a possibility with local nationals. Transmission Site: Mark is volunteering for the maintenance team. A team will go up in early January to work on clearing the site to eliminate the possibility of bush-fire damage. Shane Wilson will be hired to carry out six-weekly checks on the transmission equipment. We and TAB will pay alternately for this service.
