Our Board has decided to proceed no further with the negotiations with the Yarrabuh Shire Council regarding the interim fee, at this time. We plan to consult with other members of the Site Users' Group and deal with this issue in a uniform and co-ordinated manner. As the Site Users' Group has been working together for approximately 2 years, we feel that to continue to negotiate within that structure is the most efficient way for all involved. We are hoping to come to an agreement with the Council, in regards to the fee and other requirements they may have, but in order to protect the interests of our tenants, including AUSTEK and the Council's 2-way system, Bumma Bippera Media, the local indigenous community radio station, and TAB Radio, we have chosen to proceed as members of the Site Users' Group. I have really enjoyed working with you all through the many fun times and through the tough times. In my nine years on the management committee, and the 18 years in total of being a station member, I have made many good friends at the radio station, of which many, I am sure, will remain good friends. The time has come for me to attend to other things which are important in my life. This will mean that I will be leaving the management committee of Cairns Community Broadcasters Incorporated. I feel that the remaining management committee is in very capable hands, and I would ask that you will continue to support them in every which way you can. These changes will take effect immediately. I will try to assist the management committee during this transition period as much as I can. Thank you all for your understanding, and I will look forward to catching up with you all sometime soon.
